Habitat Creation
22 Acre Field
Habitat creation is an essential part of managing habitats for wildlife. They are simply an initial step in promoting biodiversity as part of a management plan.
This scheme includes meadows for reptiles, scrub for nesting birds , woodland for long term enhancement and a large pond for amphibians. The increase in diversity and populations of plants and insects will support a wide range of other species.
The proposals more than compensate for temporary disturbance during the life of a quarry.
Singleton
A wide range of habitats were created from arable land as an open space in a comprehensive new development. The two hectare balancing lake is connected to the River Stour. ‘Village ponds’ are nearby. New woodlands and copses, created using pioneering techniques, frame the development.
