Art in the Landscape
Holme Court
Van Gogh lived here in 1876! The sculpture by Antony Heywood is in the central courtyard, which we designed for the residents to actively use and create a setting for the sculpture. The site is enclosed by a block of flats with underground car parking. The colours speak for themselves.
Singleton
A brief was written for a sculpture proposal to involve local artists into this large development. Antony Gormley won the sculpture competition for a location by the lake and this was his first commission.
St Mary's Island
The context for Sam Holland’s sculpture of the tradition of sailing at Chatham Dockyard is by the old Finsborough Ness slipway, as part of the SEEDA regeneration of the area. The setting is designed to integrate the sculpture into the local landscape and provide a riverside open space for the residents of the new housing.
